Forged in Blood

I had mentioned previously about a new Freehold book, Forged in Blood, that has just been released in hard copy.  I had received mine in the mail last week, and although I had bought the electronic advance copy, there is something just satisfying about holding a physical tome in hand.

I had posted my review on Amazon and I do urge folks to give it a try.  Those that enjoy good sci-fi and military sci-fi in particular will find this a great read.  Check it out!

A clever commercial, and the backlash against it from one group

I came across this video on Facebook, which is a commercial airing in Australia promoting lamb as the one meat that is not restricted by the major religions.

I personally thought it was funny and a clever marketing ploy.  However, one group of Hindus have expressed their offense at the ad.
From a viewpoint of someone who does believe in God but don't really care much for organized religion, I think they just need to take a chill pill and not get their panties in a twist.  This is one commercial that pokes fun at everybody!!  Get over it!!

Making some headway

Well, I did pass the written test for Advanced EMT, now just have to take the protocol test for health district to get licensed, then I can start making a little more...yay! :-)

And now it's time to start thinking of finding a different place to live so that my girlfriend and I can be together away from the drama of both our families.  More on that later...
